After a Windows update in September 2018 I'm experiencing 3D problems. What can I do to fix the problem?
Users who work work on a Windows 10 computer and have an Intel HD Graphics Display Adapter have reported problems with the software after a Windows update in September 2018. The following symptoms were reported:
oThe application starts but crashes (disappears) as soon as the viewer is loaded
oOn startup the software displays a message:
When you click on 'Run Program', the application crashes.
oThe application starts fine, but when I want to display 3D assets nothing happens and the display progress bar in the application status bar seems to be in a never ending loop.
This issue is caused by a problem with the Intel HD Graphics driver which was installed by the windows update. You can verify the version of your display adapter driver in Device Manager. If you have an Intel HD Graphics driver with either version 23.X or 24.X you may experience these problems. Intel has since released a fix which you can install via the "Update Driver" option in Device Manager or via Windows Update.
