This topic provides a step-by-step procedure for configuring the INOVx Enterprise Server (IES) using INOVX Enterprise Administrator. IES is in general installed on the same computer as ILS and may be installed on the same computer as the V-Suite CORE database server

IES Configuration Prerequisites

Before you configure IES make sure that you have:

  • Installed ILS and the V-Suite CORE License Key. You have the following information:
    • The name or IP address of the ILS server
  • Installed IES. You have the following information:
    • The name or IP address of the IES server
  • If you are NOT installing the V-Suite CORE database and IES on the same computer or do NOT want to utilize the Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Express edition that comes with the IES installation, you have manually installed and configured the V-Suite CORE database server. You have the following information:
    • The name or IP address of the database server
    • The name and TCP Port of the V-Suite CORE database instance
    • The username and password of the SQL sysadmin account or your windows account has SQL sysadmin privileges.

Information

If you decided to install Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Express on the IES computer that comes with the IES installation your windows account will be added as a sysadmin account and the name of the SQL instance will be INOVXSQL2012

  • Created the CORE Database Folders on the database server. You have the following information:
    • The path on the database server for the admin database
    • The path on the database server for project databases
    • The path for project backups

Configure IES

Login on the IES server and launch INOVX Enterprise Administrator (IEA) ('INOVxEnterpriseAdmin.exe'). IEA is by default installed on 'C:\Program Files (x86)\INOVx Solutions\V-Suite 2018\Enterprise Administrator'. In IEA, first, go to menu Administration - License to specify the name or the IP of the license server.

Next, in IEA first go to menu Administration - Server Settings to configure IES.

You are prompted to enter the IES Server name or IP address (the server on which you installed IES):

Press Next to proceed. You will be prompted to specify the SQL Server Instance. The default instance name installed by the IES Installation is INOVXSQL2012. If you specify and instance on the same computer as IES select "Local System Account", otherwise select "Network Service Account". Alternatively, you may specify a windows account but this account may not expire and must have SQL Server Instance sysadmin privileges.

Press Next to proceed. You will be prompted to specify the credentials to log in SQL Server. If you installed IES and the INOVXSQL2012 instance that comes with the IES installation, your windows credentials will have been automatically added to SQL.

Press Next to proceed. You will be prompted to specify the data folders you created and configured earlier. Press the 'Test Access Rights on Paths' button, to make sure that the SQL Database Engine has the appropriate folder access rights.

Press Next to proceed. IEA will restart IES with the appropriate account. If that succeeds, IEA will add the appropriate SQL roles to the database instance. If that succeeds, SQL will create a new IEA Administration Database. If any of these steps fails, contact INOVx support for assistance.

You are now ready to connect to IES. In ILA go to menu Administration - Connect. You will be prompted for credentials.

Refer to the IEA Help File installed with your product for default username and password.

Change Admin Password and choose users security model

It is highly recommended that you change the admin password. You should also choose which security model is most appropriate for your organization.
